Cookie sticks can be inserted to make a cookie bouquet with this sugar cookie recipe or you can package individually and give as a small gift. You can write on them with edible markers and add a name on the icing after it sets. Perfect as party favors too!

Easy Shamrock Cookies

Here is a quick way to make shamrock cookies with premade dough.

Ingredients

  • Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough or similar

  • Green Candy Sprinkles

  • Green Food Coloring

Other Materials

  • Cookie Cutter
  • Rolling Pin
  • Flour
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper (optional)
  • Gloves (optional)green food coloring may get on hands when mixing into the dough

STEPS

  • Make sure dough is well chilled. Cutting will be easier and baking will cause less "spreading".
  • Lightly flour surface you are rolling dough on and rolling pin.
  • If you want green colored cookies, drop a few drops of green food coloring onto dough and knead.
  • Roll dough out to 1/4 inch
  • Press cutter into dough and peel around the cookie cutter first.
  • Lift up cookie cutter.
  • Decorate with sprinkles.
  • Bake according to package. Watch carefully because it will brown quickly in the last few minutes.
