Toddler Recipes: Holiday Pretzel Treats Are Perfect for Any Party
DESCRIPTION
Tailor it to the occasion by using different colored candy coated chocolate.
MATERIALS
Bite Size Waffle Shaped Pretzels
Wilton White Candy Melts 12 Oz.
or Baker's Dipping Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, 7-Ounce microwaveable Tubs (Pack of 8)
Candy Coated Chocolate like M and M's
OTHER MATERIALS
Parchment Paper
STEPS
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Preheat oven to 170 degrees F.
- Place a single layer of pretzels onto the parchment paper.
- Place a chocolate on each pretzel.
- Bake in oven for three minutes or until chocolate is soft. Test with small spoon.
- Remove from oven and quickly press a candy coated chocolate like M and M's into chocolate.
- If children are helping, have a surface ready to work on and slide the parchment sheet carefully onto it. Careful supervision will be required at all times.
- When completely cooled, arrange on a candy dish or package in clear gift bags and tie with a festive bow.
TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS
We like the Wilton White Candy Melts 12 Oz.
which come in a variety of flavors and colors. We bought the Vanilla Colorburst Brights which are white and has little colored flakes in them. You can find these at
large grocery stores or craft stores that offer supplies for lollipop and chocolate molds.
Baker's Dipping Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, 7-Ounce microwaveable Tubs (Pack of 8)
can be found in single tubs at grocery stores. Not all have the white chocolate.
We also like Snyder's of Hanover Butter Snap Pretzels, 9-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12)
which can be found in most grocery stores.
To harden quicker, place in refrigerator for 20 minutes or until set.
OTHER IDEAS
Chocolate Covered Caramels
Use this toddler recipe with Rolos, Caramel Filled Dove Chocolate or any chocolate filled caramel and drizzle white chocolate over each to make it stand out.
Beware...this is delicious and easy to eat many at a time!!

Valentines Pretzel Treats
Use pink, red, and white m and m's for a Valentine's theme.
We used Rolos, however if you prefer chocolates without caramel use Bakers Dipping Chocolate
(Real Dark Semi-Sweet Chocolate) which comes in a round shape. See below. A perfect size on top of
a butter snap pretzel.
