DESCRIPTION
Delicious, easy no bake treat!
INGREDIENTS
1 (10 ounce) package REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips
1 Tablespoon shortening (Do NOT use butter, margarine, spread or oil)
2 cups chow mein noodles (found in can or bag in grocery stores)
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
OTHER ITEMS
Waxed paper
Cookie Sheet or tray
Microwaveable bowl
STEPS
- Line tray or cookie sheet with wax paper.
- Place peanut butter chips and shortening into microwave safe bowl.
- Microwave 1 minute and stir. Repeat in 15 second increments and stir after each heating. Stir thoroughly to spread the heat, chips
will melt as you stir. Heat until chips are just melted and mixture is smooth.
- Immediately add chow mein noodles and marshmallows, stir to coat.
- Drop mixture by heaping teaspoons onto wax paper. Shape into haystacks with fingers.
Let stand until firm. Refrigerate if necessary. Store in tightly covered container to retain freshness.
TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS
Reese's Chips and chocolate scorches easily and it will ruin the texture and flavor. Microwave until just melted. Note that
microwave times can vary so the above times are guidelines.
If mixture is a little "saucy" add a few more chow mein noodles.
