Toddler Recipes: Chocolate Dipped Treats

Toddler Recipes: Chocolate adds a special touch to any treat!

chocolate dipped rice krispies DESCRIPTION

Great gift for teachers or someone you would like to say thank you to! Chocolate dipped treats make great party items too and are quick and easy to make. Keeping temperature of chocolate just melted and using a small silicone brush makes this something older toddlers can help with if done with care. Younger toddlers can help by shaking on the sprinkles!

MATERIALS

  • Pre made Rice Krispie Treats (quick and easy) or home made for best taste!
  • White Chocolate or Brown Chocolate
  • Sprinkles
  • OTHER MATERIALS

  • Cookie Tray
  • Parchment Paper
  • Silicone Brush
  • Microwaveable bowl (such as Pyrex Measuring Cup)
  • Plastic Treat Bag (optional)
  • Ribbon (optional)
  • STEPS

    1. Line cookie sheet with a piece of parchment paper.
    2. Put 2 or 3 squares of chocolate bark into a microwave safe bowl.
    3. Microwave as directed or 30 seconds. Stir and repeat at 15 second intervals. Mix well after each heating.
    4. Brush or dip Rice Krispies Treats into chocolate. Use silicone brush to make it evenly covered.
    5. Let excess drip off.
    6. Sprinkle with small candies.
    7. Let cool on the parchment paper and put in an air tight container or bag to keep fresh.
    8. Place in clear gift bag for gift giving or stocking stuffers.
    9. Add a ribbon and gift card.

    TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS

  • When heating chocolate, stir well for at least 30 seconds to spread heat evenly. The hotter part will melt some of the chocolate as you stir.
  • Very Important: Heat until just melted and chocolate is smooth and shiny. Chocolate scorches easily.
  • Small pyrex or anchor hocking one cup measure works well. The handle stays relatively cool and it is microwave safe.
  • Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Sticks

Make this a toddler recipe by letting your child shake on the colored sprinkles! Eat as a sweet treat or use as a cocoa stir. Adults might enjoy it in their coffee for a hint of mint and chocolate.
